Wentong Potash Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as Wentong Group) is a leading enterprise in the inorganic chemical potassium salt industry in the country. It has a history of more than 50 years. Its main products are potassium carbonate, potassium nitrate, tobacco-specific fertilizer, calcium nitrate, calcium ammonium nitrate, fully water-soluble compound fertilizer, potassium ammonium nitrate, ammonium chloride, potassium bicarbonate, potassium hydroxide and potassium chloride. It is the largest potassium carbonate manufacturer in the world and the largest potassium nitrate manufacturer in the country. Wentong Group strategically moved its headquarters south to Pudong, Shanghai in 2001, making full use of the information, talent, finance, market and other advantages of the international metropolis to achieve leapfrog growth in product market share year after year. In 2003, it joined forces with Qinghai Salt Lake Industrial Group Co., Ltd., the largest potassium chloride manufacturer in the country, to build Shanxi Wentong Salt Bridge Compound Fertilizer Co., Ltd., a large-scale production enterprise focusing on potassium nitrate, potassium carbonate and high-grade fully water-soluble compound fertilizer products in Shanxi. In 2006, we continued to deepen our strategic cooperation with Qinghai Salt Lake Industrial Group and implemented 400,000 tons of potassium chloride and 200,000 tons of agricultural potassium nitrate projects in Qinghai, forming a project group with potassium chloride resources as the core. The project will be fully put into production in 2010. In 2008, Shanghai Mintai Investment Co., Ltd., whose main business is finance and investment, was established in Shanghai.
